Dayton (12-14, 6-8) still managed to win 80-70 at UD Arena. Chartouny scored 19 points in the second half. Ten came during a four-minute span that helped the Rams (9-17, 4-10) rally from a 70-51 deficit to get as close as four points in the final minutes.

Chartouny missed the previous two games with an Achilles injury. He looked healthy against the Flyers. Fordham did play without its leading scorer, Will Tavares (14.0 points per game), who missed his second straight game with an injury.
“You try to prepare as best you can for everybody,” Dayton coach Anthony Grant said. “That’s the way we approached it. We approached it like everybody was going to play tonight. Obviously, it was a game-time decision for Chartouny to play, and he did a great job. He impacted their team. He’s a heck of a player. I thought our guys didn’t get caught by surprise with anything today.”
Recruiting news: Dayton recruit Dwayne Cohill planned to attend the Fordham game, but his high school, Holy Name, had a game rescheduled for Saturday.

Dayton assistant coach Anthony Solomon said Cohill now plans to attend the final home game of the season March 3 against George Washington. Cohill has visited UD Arena but has not seen the Flyers play in person.
Hall of Fame: Two former athletes and a former coach joined the University of Dayton Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday. Former Major League Soccer player Chris Rolfe, track and field athlete Mallory Barnes and football coach Dave Whilding were honored at halftime.
Rolfe, a Fairmont High School graduate, ranks sixth in Dayton history in goals (31) and first in assists (25) despite missing time with injuries in two of his seasons with the Flyers.
Barnes, a graduate of Winton Woods High School who now lives in Huber Heights, placed sixth in the weight throw at the 2010 and 2011 NCAA Indoor Championship meets. She helped lead the indoor team to Atlantic 10 titles in 2010 and 2011 and was a five-time winner of the Most Outstanding Field Performer award at the A-10 championships.
Whilding is the first assistant coach inducted into UD’s Hall of Fame. He spent 35 years with the program (1977-2011), the last 29 as offensive coordinator. Dayton was never shut out during his tenure. Dayton hasn’t been shut out in the last 465 games, the longest ever streak in Division.
Next game: Dayton plays Saint Louis (15-12, 8-6) at 9 p.m. Tuesday at UD Arena. ESPNU will televise the game. The Billikens beat the Flyers 75-65 in St. Louis on Jan. 27. Saint Louis has lost three straight games at UD Arena.
Saint Louis moved into fourth place by winning 72-66 at Richmond (9-17, 7-7) on Saturday. Hasahn French and Davell Roby each scored 15 points.
Around the A-10: Virginia Commonwealth (15-12, 7-7) lost 106-79 at Dayton and now has another blowout loss on its resume. George Washington (12-15, 5-9) routed the Rams 80-56 on Saturday in Washington, D.C., to move out of the A-10 basement.
VCU fell into a tie for fifth place with Saint Joseph’s (12-14, 7-7) and Richmond (9-17, 7-7).
• St. Joseph’s beat Duquesne 82-75 in Philadelphia. The Dukes (15-12, 6-8) have lost four straight games and are tied with Dayton and George Mason for eighth place.
• La Salle (11-16, 5-9) rallied from a 13-point halftime deficit to beat George Mason 69-62 in Philadelphia. A two-game winning streak ended for the Patriots (12-15, 6-8). La Salle and George Washington are tied for 11th place.
• Davidson (15-10, 10-4) beat visiting Massachusetts 83-79. The Wildcats are tied for second place with St. Bonaventure. UMass (11-16, 4-10), which swept two games from Dayton, is tied for last place.
