Dayton Dragons catcher and designated hitter Hendrik Clementina has been named an Eastern starter for the 54th annual Class A Midwest League All-Star Baseball Classic.
The game will be held on Tuesday, June 19, at Cooley Law School Stadium in Lansing, Michigan, home of the Lugnuts.

Joining Clementina on the Eastern roster are four other Dragons: first baseman Montrell Marshall, outfielder Stuart Fairchild and pitchers Cory Thompson and John Ghyzel.
The Dragons lost 8-5 at Lake County on Wednesday. Dayton (29-28) was scheduled to complete the three-game road trip at Lake County on Thursday and return to Fifth Third Field on Friday for a four-game home stand against Bowling Green.
Friday’s game is “Defeating Cancer Night.” The Dragons will honor that theme by wearing special jerseys. Players and coaches will autograph those jerseys and a fund-raising auction will begin after the game. The auction will continue for one week. Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer society.
“This will be the first full-team jersey auction in our history and we are pleased to give fans the opportunity to bid on these special jerseys,” said Dragons President and General Manager Robert Murphy in a release.
Clementina (Willemstad, Curacao) leads the Dragons in most significant offensive categories and ranks among the MWL’s top hitters. He was named the parent-club Cincinnati Reds minor league hitter of the month for May (.329 batting average, seven home runs, 20 RBIs).
