Football recruiting: Bellbrook’s Hayden Bullock picks Air Force

Hayden Bullock is the third area football player from the class of 2019 to make his college choice.

The Bellbrook defensive lineman announced earlier this month he plans to continue his career at Air Force.

“I chose Air Force because that’s been my dream college since my freshman year,” Bullock said. “I toured it and was in love immediately.”

Even before playing football for the Falcons became an option, Bullock dreamed of attending the academy in Colorado.

He has wanted to be a pilot since attending the air show for the first time as a 3-year-old.

“That had been my original goal, just to get to the academy, not even play football,” he said, “so when the opportunity came, I jumped on it. I told the coaches before they offered me that this was the only goal of mine and that I was ready, so there was no hesitation there.”

Bullock, who had three sacks and forced three fumbles last season for the 7-3 Golden Eagles, said he also received recruiting interest from Navy and schools in the MAC and Ivy League.

He is one of nearly 20 area juniors who have Division I college football offers so far.

From that group, Springfield defensive back Moses Douglass has committed to Kentucky and Northmont defensive end Gabe Newburg chose Michigan.

The 2017 Air Force football roster had three area players (Ja’Mel Sanders and C.J. Riazzi of Chaminade Julienne and Jarrod Hardrick of Wayne) and three members of the 2018 class plan to play for the Falcons (Jake Spewiak and Sam Vance of Centerville and Tyler Johnson of Miamisburg).
