Girls Basketball: Coaching changes for 2016-17 season

The following are some of the area girls high school basketball varsity head coaching changes that were made following last season:

Bellefontaine: Henry Stolly resigned after nine seasons as the Chieftains boys coach to succeed Brian Hogan as the girls coach.

Brookville: Braden Kindell succeeds Tony Ferraro, who resigned to succeed Dick Steineman at Troy Christian.

Carroll: Promoted varsity assistant coach Cecilia Grosselin to succeed Rob Berry, who died from illness last summer.

Dunbar: Jim Cole succeeds Brenda Winston.

Fairborn: Billy Harchick, a 2006 grad, succeeds Bridgett Williams. Harchick was a boys JV coach the previous three seasons.

Fairmont: Lacy (Romine) Drake now coaches the Firebirds after marrying veteran Fairmont baseball coach Kent Drake.

Miamisburg: Allyson Jaynes, a Miamisburg grad, resigned as a Lakota East assistant to succeed Bill Newland.

Minster: Reetta Piipari, a member of Minster's 1998 state championship team, succeeds Nann Stechschulte, who resigned after 27 seasons and 524 career wins. Piipari played four seasons at Xavier University and 12 seasons of pro ball in finland and Spain.

Preble Shawnee: Kevin Schaeffer succeeds Joe Webster. Schaeffer also is the Arrows' girls soccer coach.

Troy: Aaron Johnson succeeds Nathan Kopp, who succeeds Mark Stoll as the athletic director at Xenia.

Troy Christian: Tony Ferraro resigned as Brookville's girls coach to succeed Dick Steineman.
