The Dayton Flyers will get a No. 9 seed in the NCAA women's basketball tournament, according to the latest basketball prediction released by ESPN on Monday.

The Flyers (22-5) would play No. 8 seed Villanova in South Bend., Ind., in the first round with the winner likely playing No. 1 seed Notre Dame in the second round.

Dayton ranks 31st in the RPI and can stamp its ticket to the NCAA tournament by winning the Atlantic 10 tournament. It has the No. 1 seed and will play in the quarterfinals at 11 a.m. Friday in Richmond, Va., against No. 8 seed Richmond (13-16) or No. 9 seed Davidson (12-17). Those teams play at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Richmond. In the regular season, Dayton beat Davidson 86-68 and won 66-59 at Richmond.

The women’s basketball selection show takes place at 7 p.m. March 12 on ESPN.
