Prep softball: Bush powers CCS past Felicity in Division IV district semifinal


Briahna Bush fired a three-hitter with 14 strikeouts Tuesday as the Cincinnati Christian School softball team ran its winning streak to nine with a 7-0 victory over Felicity-Franklin in a Division IV district semifinal at Sycamore.

A five-run sixth inning sparked the third-seeded Cougars (15-4), with Ashley Veldkamp and Merrick Heid plating runs in the frame.

CCS played errorless softball and totaled nine hits. Bush was 3-for-3 and Kayla Stacy and Jenna Monk added multiple hits.

Felicity was the No. 2 seed.

Cincinnati Christian will play Bradford for a district championship at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Mason.
