It’s been a disappointing season for the Cincinnati Reds that will likely end in another last place finish. Yet, it’s one that’s been several new benchmarks.

With Scooter Gennett’s blast Monday evening, the Reds have five batters who’ve hit 20-or-more home runs, tying a team record accomplished two previous times (1956, 2008).

Joey Votto (31), Adam Duvall (27), Scott Schebler (23), Eugenio Suarez (20) and Gennett are the five sluggers.

Zack Cozart, sitting at 16 long balls, is the only other player within reach of 20. Cozart recently returned from the disabled list and represents the Reds’ lone shot at setting the new team mark.
