Johnson is a 6-foot-2 guard who averaged 16.1 points per game, 3.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists last season. He redshirted as a freshman in 2014-15 and has one year of eligibility remaining. As a grad transfer, he could play immediately in 2018-19, though he’s also exploring his options in the NBA Draft. He scored 1,334 points in three seasons at Florida Gulf Coast.
I have decided to enter the NBA draft with intent to not hire an agent. Therefore, my last year of college eligibility will not be compromised. Thank you everybody that has supported and helped me get to this point 🙏🏾🙏🏾 pic.twitter.com/qwAXo46SCN

Dayton has two connections to Johnson. He’s from Miami, Fla., as is Dayton head coach Anthony Grant, and Dayton has a grad assistant from Florida Gulf Coast: Brett Comer.
Dayton has five scholarships open for next season. April will be a busy month for UD coaches. The April recruiting period lasts from April 5-18 with a dead period from April 9-12. There are two evaluation periods for certified events April 20-22 and April 27-29.
Florida Gulf Coast's Zach Johnson has heard from Gonzaga, Louisville, VCU, Oklahoma, Miami, Creighton, Dayton, Saint Louis and Xavier about a potential grad transfer.
