Report: Nebraska transfer commits to Dayton

Jordy Tshimanga, a transfer from Nebraska, has committed to the University of Dayton, according to a report by ESPN’s Fran Fraschilla.

Tshimanga and his brother Emmanuel Tshimanga, a 2019 recruit, visited Dayton on Wednesday.

Jordy Tshimanga, a 6-foot-11 center, started 18 games last season for Nebraska, averaging 4.0 points and 4.6 rebounds in 13.6 minutes per game. He announced his decision to transfer in July. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining and will have to sit out the 2018-19 season.

As a freshman at Nebraska, Jordy played three minutes and scored three points against Dayton in the Wooden Legacy.

Emmanuel Tshimanga announced Tuesday he received an offer from Dayton. He’s a 6-10 center who attends Bella Vista College Preparatory School in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The Tshimanga family is originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, according to Nebraska’s website.

Dayton has one scholarship open for the 2018-19 season. The Flyers have not received a commitment from a member of the 2019 class.
