Reports: Bengals Mixon to have knee surgery, miss two games

Cincinnati Bengals running back will have arthroscopic knee surgery Saturday and expected to miss two weeks, according to published reports.

Mixon, a second-year player out of Oklahoma, suffered the injury in Thursday night's 34-23 win over Baltimore. He finished with 84 yards on 21 carries but was in and out of the lineup.

He said after the game the knee was still bothering him, but wasn’t too concerned.

“It was really important (to finish the game),” Mixon said. “Coach called my number and the team needed me, and they needed us to make plays, and we were fortunate enough to make them. We settled in in the fourth quarter, and the last two drives we went out there and were fortunate enough to finish them off.”

In Cincinnati’s first two games, Mixon is averaging 4.7 yards per carry.
