Hue Jackson is returning to Cincinnati, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
Jackson, who was fired last month after two-plus seasons as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns, will join Marvin Lewis’ staff in Cincinnati this week. Jackson’s role is unclear.

In addition to his head coaching duties, Lewis is taking over the reigns of Cincinnati's defense after Teryl Austin was fired on Monday in the wake of Sunday's 51-14 loss to the New Orleans Saints.

This will be Jackson’s third stint with Lewis and the Bengals. Jackson served as wide receivers coach from 2004-06 then returned in 2012 as an assistant after he was fired as the Oakland Raiders head coach in 2011. He was the Bengals’ offensive coordinator in 2014 and 2015 before being hired as the head coach of the Browns.
In Cleveland, Jackson was 3-36-1, including an 0-16 mark last season.
The Bengals face the Browns twice the rest of the way, including a Nov. 25 matchup in Cincinnati.
