HS Roundup 1/30: Gordon nets 29, Sidney knocks off Tipp

The Sidney boys basketball team bested division rival Tippecanoe in a well fought 79-74 victory.

Andre Gordon led the way for Sidney, putting up 29 points on the night.

Cooper Collinsworth tacked on 18 and Devan Rogers 14.

Cade Gingerich, Tyler Skaggs and Caiden Smith all netted 15 points for Sidney in the loss.

The win puts Sidney firmly in second place in the American North division, sitting at 7-3 in conference and 10-6 overall.

Tippecanoe falls to 5-4 in conference and 10-6 on the season.

Boys Basketball

Butler 59, Piqua 46: Kort Justice put up 21 points in the win over Piqua. Ben Schmiesing netted 17 for Piqua.

Lebanon 77, West Carrollton 36: Brendan Lamb recorded 17 points in the conference win. Zach Huffman and Luke Arnold chipped in 14 each.

Miamisburg 65, Fenwick 55: Jason Hubbard dropped 21 points in the win over Fenwick. John Engelmeier sunk 14 in the losing effort.

Northmont 58, Alter 51: Prophet Johnson and Jamaal Linson put up 11 points each in the victory. Connor Bazelak’s 19 fell short in the loss.

Springfield 57, Beavercreek 44: Leonard Taylor notched 20 points in the Springfield win. Jon Alessandro countered with 21 points for ‘Creek.

Troy 63, Greenville 55: Zach Reichelderfer and Jacob Martinez combined for 44 points in the win, netting 22 each. Kyle Mills had 15 in the loss.

Fairfield 56, Oak Hills 43: Devin Turner recorded a double double in the win, amassing 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Lakota East 56, Colerain 48: Bash Wieland netted 19 points to lead in the win. Jarrett Cox came close behind with 16 points and nine rebounds for the near double double.

Middletown 67, Lakota West 39: EJ Williams led all scorers with 18 points in the Middies win. Je’Sus Harris had eight in the loss.

Princeton 73, Hamilton 46: Jaylen Robinson shot for 15 points in the Hamilton loss.

Dixie 69, Newton 49: Newton’s Treg Jackson’s 24 points weren’t quite enough to secure the win. Devin Worley put up 18 points for Dixie in the winning effort.

Franklin 59, Springbor 56: Jared Kinzer led all scorers with 18 points for Franklin. Garrett Powell netted 14 in the ‘Boro loss.

Waynesville 58, Monroe 54: Tristan Backas led with 14 points for Monroe in the losing effort.

Belmont 60, Thurgood Marshall 41: Phil Harewood’s 17 points led all scorers in the Belmont win.

Triad 62, Greenon 46: Hadley LeVan added 28 points to his season total in the Triad win. Briley Harlan tacked on 21. Luke Downing led Greenon with 14.

West Liberty-Salem 54, Greeneview 48: Ben Burden scored 18 points to lead in the win. Mason Schneider had 15 for Greeneview.

Cincinnati Christian 59, Cincinnati Country Day 51: Riley Reutener netted 16 points in the win.

Emmanuel Christian 59, East Dayton Christian 25: Adonis Davis led with the near double double, putting up 22 points and seven rebounds.

Arcanum 54, Eaton 39: Evan Atchley led Arcanum with 11 points in the win. James Howard had 14 for Eaton.

Bethel 89, Carroll 70: Caleb South netted 29 of Bethel’s points to earn the win over Carroll. Simon Jefferson tallied 22 in the losing effort.

Tri County North 59, Milton Union 45: Dillon McCullough put up 23 points in the winning effort. A.J. Lovin had 11 in the MU loss.

Lehman Catholic 62, Mississinawa Valley 52: Ethan Bowman tacked on 22 points to his season total for MV.

Girls Basketball

Brookville 33, Bradford 21: Skipp Miller put up 75% of Bradford’s points on the night, scoring 16. Miller added on 12 rebounds for the double double.

Oakwood 58, Greenon 44: Lauren Hapgood led with 18 points in the victory. Kylie Neff tacked on a double double with 12 points and 15 rebounds.

Legacy Christian 53, Carlisle 27: Emma Hess recorded 20 points in the winning effort. Christa Harris had 12 for Carlisle.

Greeneview 59, Mechanicsburg 54: Frankie Fife’s 22 points led Greeneview and all scorers in the win. Morgan Hamby countered with 17 for ‘Burg.

Fairbanks 50, Catholic Central 44: Abbigail Peterson tallied 20 points in the loss.

Covington 64, Bethel 42: Samantha Whiteman set the single game scoring record for Covington with 41 points in the win. Alaina Hawthorn had 12 in the loss.

Franklin Monroe 38, Fort Recovery 33: Bella Cable and Kennedy Morris contributed 10 points each in the win.

Miami East 68, Mississinawa Valley 22: Morgan Haney tallied 23 points in the ME victory. Haley Howard tacked on 13. Taylor Collins and Bailey Johnson each had six in the loss.

Coldwater 59, Lima Shawnee 44: Kourtney Diller netted 15 points, three rebounds and two assists in the win. Maura Hoying tacked on an additional 15 points, eight assists, eight steals and six rebounds.

Versailles 43, West Liberty-Salem 25: Danielle Winner netted 15 points to lead in the win over WLS. Kelsey Day countered with 10 in the losing effort.

Boys Bowling

Bellefontaine 2788, Ben Logan 2563: Austin Billingsley rolled a 410 series to lead in the losing effort. Trevor Boger tacked on a 388.

Carroll 2371, Purcell Marian 2147: Jacob Schoening was the high bowler for Carroll with a 406 series. Adam Hall led with a 364 series in the loss.

Girls Bowling

Ben Logan 2511, Bellefontaine 2289: Kayla Snyder rolled games of 193 and 195 to lead a 388 series. Erica Warne added on a 386 series.

Greenon 2225, West Liberty-Salem 1943: Katie Rolls led with games of 165 and 202 for a 367 series in the loss.
