HS Roundup 1/9: Nation, Gillum lead ‘Boro past Tecumseh

In a nail-biting overtime finish at home Springboro girls basketball defeated Tecumseh 72-70 on Wednesday night.

Peyton Nation of Springboro dropped in 23 points and Rachel Gillum tacked on 19, including a pair of free throws with three seconds to play to give ‘Boro the edge.

Maddy Bakosh tacked on 11 and Jordan Hobbs added 10 for Springboro (7-7).

Tecumseh (7-3) was led by Corinne Thomas with 26 points, Presley Griffitts added 21 and Mackenzie Pauley 18.

Girls Basketball

Centerville 52, Miamisburg 29: Centerville’s Amy Velasco scored 14 points and Kenzie Smith chipped in 12.

Chaminade Julienne 60, Fenwick 45: Jordyn Varise led Chaminade Julienne with 21 points, Courtney Redd scored 14 and Teri McCann hauled in 11 rebounds. Fenwick’s Emily Adams tallied 16 points.

Fairmont 49, Lebanon 26: Madison Bartley paced Fairmont with 17 points and Madeline Westbeld added 14 points with 11 rebounds.

Roger Bacon 52, Badin 43: Emma Broermann of Badin tallied 16 points and Shelby Nusbaum added 15 in a losing effort.

Triad 45, Graham 38: Frani LeVan recorded 16 points for Triad, Cati LeVan added 15 and Makenzie Cauley tallied 12.

Trotwood-Madison 34, Butler 28: Sha’Mya Leigh scored 15 points for Trotwood-Madison.

Troy 46, Stebbins 39: Troy’s Macie Taylor scored 18 points with 11 rebounds, Makenna Taylor tallied 11 points and Lauren McGraw added 12 rebounds.

Boys Bowling

Butler 2480, Greenville 2065: Ian Jacobs bowled a 455 series and Drew Sacks added a 449 to help Butler improve to 8-0.

Graham 2522, Ben Logan 2521: Devon Snider had a 386 series and Tyler Nicholas a 384 in the tough loss for Ben Logan.

Northmont 2237, Lebanon 2091: Cassidy Hunter rolled a 431 series and Hailey Yingst tacked on a 403 to pace Northmont.
