HS Roundup 4/2: Norman throws shutout for Butler

Braedon Norman tossed a complete game shutout to lead Butler baseball in a 4-0 win over Piqua on Monday.

Norman scattered five hits and struck out 12 to improve to 2-0.

At the plate for Butler Dolen Fults went 3-for-4 and Boston Smith drove in a pair of runs.

Springboro 13, West Jessamine (KY) 2: Spencer Virtue went 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored from the leadoff spot and Tyler Kean drove in three runs for ‘Boro.

Kenton Ridge 8, Bellefontaine 1: Bailey Armentrout and Zach Schneider drove in three runs apiece and Drew Wichael picked up the win for Kenton Ridge.

Spg. Shawnee 3, Tecumseh 0: Kolby Wooten rung up 11 in a complete-game shutout on the mound for Shawnee. Davey Berner was 2-for-3 for Tecumseh.

Fairbanks 9, Northeastern 8: Northeastern put up five runs in the top of the eighth inning but couldn’t hold the lead in the nine inning contest. Dylon Hand had nine strikeouts and drove in two in a losing effort.

Southeastern 9, Cedarville 2: Wesley Earles struck out eight over four innings and went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI for SE. Hayden McKee added a home run.

Anna 12, Jackson Center 2: Derek Coverstone went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI and Seth Stiefel was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI to lead Anna. Jacob Francis hit a solo home run for Jackson Center.

Softball

Lakota East 18, Hamilton 1: Sydney Larson went 2-for-4 and Abby Niehaus 2-for-3 to lead East. Autumn Griffie had a double for Hamilton.

Indian Lake 10, Urbana 0: Kassidy Crockett and Bethany Golliday tallied two hits apiece and Callie Stidam tossed five shutout innings to lead Lake.

Kenton Ridge 10, Bellefontaine 0: Carly Turner struck out nine in a no-hitter and Jordan Rucker went 3-for-4 with three RBI for Kenton Ridge.

West Liberty-Salem 4, Mechanicsburg 2: Maddie Estes doubled in a run and Kelsey Day picked up the win and also had a double in the season-opener for WLS.

West Jefferson 6, Triad 1: Audrey Lightle hit a home run to account for Triad’s lone run.

Riverside 5, Hardin Northern 3: Jalynn Stanley, Leah Kelsey and Shelby Giles all went 2-for-4 at the plate for Riverside.

Boys Tennis

Monroe 5, Carlisle 0: Tim Wackler, Jude Weidner and Paolo Dongo each finished with a singles victory to lead Monroe.

Tecumseh 5, Kenton Ridge 0: Mitchell Foland, Drew Sarihan and Jacob Lewis each picked up singles victories for Tecumseh, including a straight set win for Foland.

Miami Valley 5, Legacy Christian 0: Colton Morehart, Nyianth Reddy and Nathan Howell swept the singles matches in the season opener for Miami Valley.

Celina 3, Lehman Catholic 2: Griffin West defeated Bryce Langenkamp in first singles for Lehman.
