HS Roundup 2/3: Rucker nets 22, Northmont boys upset Franklin

The Northmont boys basketball team pulled off an upset, routing Franklin 56-51.

Cameron Rucker led the effort with 22 points, shooting for four from the three point line.

Prophet Johnson tacked on 15 for the Bolts.

Jared Kinzer’s 14 points paced Franklin in the loss, while Cole Bundren tacked on eight.

Franklin drops to 15-4 overall. Northmont moves to 7-10 on the season.

Boys Basketball

Miamisburg 49, Troy 46: Savon O’Neal’s 16 points led Miamisburg and all scorers in the win. Zach Reichelderfer netted 13 points in the loss.

Sidney 61, St. Marys 52: Andre Gordon poured in 34 of Sidney’s 61 points in the winning effort. Braedon Dunlap’s 15 points led St. Marys in the loss.

Wayne 59, Belmont 46: Darius Quisenberry led with 23 points in the win.

Dixie 59, Franklin Monroe 50: Devin Worley’s 26 points led all scorers in the win. Ethan Conley paced Franklin Monroe with 25.

Gahanna-Lincoln 79, Northridge 54: Twon Hines netted two 3-pointers, putting up 21 points on the night for Northridge.

Kenton Ridge 58, Carroll 48: Nasiim McKay’s 17 points paced all scorers in KR’s 12th win of the season. Matt Cogan countered with 15 for Carroll.

Hillard Bradley 57, Ponitz 35: Malik Pooler led Ponitz with 10 points. Eric Sealey tacked on nine.

Alter 69, Meadowdale 46: Connor Bazelak poured in 19 points for Alter in their fifth win of the season. Dominic Ruffolo tacked on 14 and Brady Uhl 12. Jaboli Leonard netted 32 of Meadowdale’s 46 points in the loss.

Edgewood 84, Talawanda 37: Trent Allen netted 21 points in the Edgewood win. Evan James’ 11 points led Talawanda in the losing effort.

Hamilton 69, Harrison 47: Jaylen Robinson’s 23 points paced Hamilton in the win. D’Marco Howard tacked on 19 points, six rebounds and three assists.

Dayton Christian 49, Miami Valley 36: Matt Welker netted 17 of DC’s points in the win. Mark Williams led all scorers with 21 for MV.

Anna 61, Greeneview 48: Mason Platfoot recorded 16 points in the Anna win. Mason Schneider countered with 17 points for Greeneview.

Tri County North 62, National Trail 51: Preston Jackson netted 15 points in the North victory. Cameron Harrison sunk 22 in the losing effort.

New Miami 89, Hillcrest 52: Deanza Duncan and Trey Robinette combined for 44 points in the win, putting up 22 each.

Celina Senior 74, St. Henry 69: Tyler Schlarman shot for 30 points, nine rebounds and four assists in the near double-double for St. Henry.

New Bremen 64, Botkins 37: Avery Powers notched 15 points in the winning effort. Tyler Free led Boktins with nine.

Minster 40, Jackson Center 37: Mike Ketner sunk 11 points for Minster. Isaac Schmiesing added on 11.

Beavercreek 68, Stebbins 23: Korina Murphy netted 12 points for Stebbins in the loss.

Centerville 49, Fairmont 42: Meghan Mattingly recorded 12 points for Centerville in its victory. Mali Morgan-Elliott countered with 12 of her own in the loss.

Lebanon 57, Miamisburg 37: Eva White and Ashley Popp scored 12 points each in the Lebanon victory. Abby Carter countered with 15 in the loss.

Piqua 47, Sidney 19: Lily Stewart led all scorers with 29 points in Piqua’s win over Sidney.

Tippecanoe 62, Greenville 28: Maddie Frederick netted 16 points in the win. Allison Mader tacked on 14.

Trotwood 85, Xenia 35: Trinity Morton-Nooks tallied 20 of Xenia’s 35 points in the losing effort.

Troy 45, Butler 37: Tia Bass dropped 18 points in the Troy victory.

Wayne 53, Springfield 37: Mickayla Perdue added 16 points to her season total for Springfield in the losing effort.

Fairfield 57, Sycamore 42: Maddie Schaeffer put up 10 points in the Fairfield win. Kelis Jones and Alyssa West tacked on nine each.

Lakota West 85, Colerain 3: Abby Prohaska put up a double-double, amassing 17 points and 12 rebounds in the win.

Mason 70, Hamilton 23: Anna Cardwell tallied 12 of Hamilton’s 23 points in the losing effort.

Oak Hills 53, Middletown 42: Aliyah Burks recorded 15 points in the loss. Aubriana Bellard added on 14.

Ben Logan 81, Urbana 40: Alaina Lyons netted 18 points in the Urbana loss. Samantha Rooney tacked on 10 points and five rebounds.

Graham 52, Indian Lake 48: Madi Vanscoy shot for 18 points in the Graham win. Brooke Johannes added on 16.

Tecumseh 38, Spg. Shawnee 34: Corrine Thomas led Tecumseh with 10 points, winning its third straight Kenton Trail division title for the CBC. Olivia Potts’ 16 points paced Shawnee.

Carroll 50, Chaminade Julienne 39: Dallas Jones put up nine points in the loss. Jorydn Varise and Annie Weckesser chipped in eight each.

Northwest 43, Talawanda 21: Addie Brown scored 10 points in the losing effort.

Ashland 51, Waynesville 50, OT: Marcella Sizer put up 21 points for Waynesville in the loss. Rachel Murray tacked on 16 in the Ironton Shootout game.

Bellbrook 66, Brookville 28: Maria Mescher, Maren Freudenchuss and Cassidy Hofacker each scored 11 points to lead Bellbrook in the win. Kylie Surber had nine in the losing effort.

Franklin 60, Eaton 45: Layne Ferrell added 28 points to her season total in the win, tacking on 10 rebounds for the double-double.

Madison 47, Preble Shawnee 44: Kenzi Saunders had 19 in the victory, while Nicole Sims put up 18 points for PS in the loss.

Milton Union 60, Northridge 14: Kristen Dickison tallied 26 points in the SWBL victory, while Beyonce Bobbitt chipped in 10. Loraine Reeder notched nine in the loss.

Monroe 45, Oakwood 30: Abby Duwel scored nine points and five assists to lead Oakwood in the loss.

Purcell Marian 48, Badin 42: Emma Broermann recorded 14 points to lead Badin in the losing effort. Claire McCurley added on 11.

CCPA 50, Meadowdale 22: Ilea Bradfield had eight points for Meadowdale.

Cedarville 69, Catholic Central 46: Abbigail Peterson had 17 points for CC.

Greeneview 58, Greenon 45: Frankie Fife netted 15 points in the win. Reagan Ware recorded 13 for Greenon.

Mechanicsburg 72, Triad 53: Kasey Schipfer recorded a career high 34 points and equaled her own ‘Burg single game record of 13 steals, tacking on nine rebounds, five assists and two blocked shots. Frani LeVan led Triad with 11.

West Liberty-Salem 58, Northeastern 38: Kelsey Day poured in 24 points for WLS. Hayley Suchland paced Northeastern with 21.

Arcanum 57, Lehman Catholic 39: Kayla O’Daniel added 16 points to her season total for Arcanum. Grace Monnin countered with 16 points in the loss.

Franklin-Monroe 45, Houston 37: Corina Conley netted 13 points for FM. Jess Monnier had 26 for Houston.

Tri County North 68, National Trail 54: Aubrey Stupp scored half of TCN’s points in its win, putting up 34. Makena Laird poured in 20 in the losing effort.

Fort Loramie 38, Jackson Center 27: Kenzie Hoelscher led with 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists in the win.

St. Henry 50, St. Marys 42: Nikki Keller led St. Henry with 14 points in the win. Syd Cisco poured in 242 points for St. Marys in the loss.

Wrestling

MAC Double Dual: Coldwater went 1-1 on the day, defeating Parkway 55-22 before falling to Versailles 45-24. Justin Sigler, Josh Fink, Seth Obringer and Nolan Tobe each went 2-0.

Washington CH Bracket Tournament: Valley View took home second overall, while Ben Logan finished seventh and Ponitz ninth. Christian Meyers and Stone Day took home the championships at 182 and 195 respectively for Valley View.

Gymnastics

Dayton Academy HS Invitational: Miamisburg took home first place overall. Keala McCurry finished first overall and on vault, third on beam and floor and seventh on bars.
