HS Roundup 1/8: Sidney boys win 8th straight

In a boys basketball game featuring two of the area’s top scorers host Sidney defeated Xenia 80-70 on Tuesday night.

Virginia Tech Hokies commit Andre Gordon powered Sidney with 32 points. Josiah Hudgins tacked on 15 and Darren Taborn 12.

Cincinnati Bearcats commit Samari Curtis poured in 47 points in a losing effort for Xenia.

The win moved Sidney to 9-1 overall and 7-0 in conference play.

Boys Basketball

Alter 63, Meadowdale 44: Brady Uhl led Alter with 27 points, Conor Stolly scored 12 and Jack Smith added 11.

Badin 58, Bellbrook 47: Justin Pappas recorded 15 for Badin and Joey Walsh added 13. Both Ryan Chew and Evan Lakins tallied 11 points.

Carlisle 54, Dixie 39: Carlisle’s Nolan Burney dropped 20 points and Isaiah Dean added 10. Jordan Butt of Dixie scored 12 points.

Chaminade Julienne 61, Beavercreek 48: Milton Gage poured in 27 points and Dan Nauseef had a triple-double with 17 points, 10 blocks and 11 rebounds to lead the way for CJ.

Emanuel Christian 67, Jefferson 46: Adonis Davis paced Emanuel Christian with 22 points.

Fairborn 65, Troy 52: Shaunn Monroe led Fairborn with 23 points and Joe Nickel added 12. Tre’Vone Archie scored 12 points for Troy

Greeneview 73, Triad 57: Cole Allen scored 19 points for Greeneview. Jacob Simonelli of Triad tallied 12 points.

Hamilton 70, Colerain 67: D’Marco Howard led the way for Hamilton with 29 points and Jaylen Robinson was right behind with 24.

Legacy Christian 42, Troy Christian 24: Mike Sharavjamts recorded 15 points and Keano Hammerstrom scored all 10 of his points in the fourth quarter to lead Legacy Christian, which moved to 6-0 in conference play. Brady Clawson scored 11 points for Troy Christian.

National Trail 56, Miami East 33: Zach Woodall scored 21 and Evynn Short added 15 for National Trail.

Piqua 68, West Carrollton 62: James Hall tallied 15 points for West Carrollton, Ryan Brown Jr. and Kalen Mckinney added 14 and Jye’Ton Howard scored 11.

Ponitz 66, Dunbar 60: Pontiz Malik Pooler scored 14 points. Martel Smith for Dunbar dropped 22 points in a losing effort.

Sidney 80, Xenia 70: Andre Gordon led Sidney with 32 points, Josiah Hudgins recorded 15 and Darrien Taborn added 12. Samair Curtis wanted to keep Xenia in the game with 47 points and Dylan Hoosier added 11.

West Liberty- Salem 47, Greenon 34: Jack Eggleston led West Liberty Salem with 12 points , Nick Burden and Holden Neese both added 11. Luke Downing of Greenon tallied 17 points in a losing effort.

Girls Basketball

Bradford 54, Fairlawn 37: Austy Miller led Bradford with 24 points and Bianca Keener added 11. Fairlawn’s Heath scored 11 points.

Coldwater 34, Lima Central Catholic 32: Lauren Gilliland had 14 points with 14 rebounds and Kate Leichty had 9 points with 4 steals.

Mississinawa Valley 54, Union High 13(Modoc): Olivia Murphy of Mississinawa scored 15 points and Taylor Stacher added 12.

Milton-Union 54, Brookville 27: Milton-Union Kristen Dickerson dropped 23 point with 6 steals and Olivia Brown added 16 with 9 steals. Bailyn Kimberlin and Emily Mason added 8 points for Brookville.

New Knoxville 76, Waynesfield 23: Morgan Leffel led New Knoxville with 18 points, Erin Scott recorded 15 and Jacklyn Leffel added 13. Waynesfield Kayla Wicker tallied 11.

New Bremen 57, Upper Scioto Valley 27: Kelly Naylor dropped 14 for New Bremen win.

Waynesville 64, Oakwood 58: Rachel Murray led unbeaten Waynesville with 26 points and Lynzie Hartshorn added 11. Lauren Hapgood tried to keep Oakwood in the game with 37 points.
