HS Roundup 12/14: Spears, Ellis push Stivers past Thurgood Marshall

Ivynn Spears sank the go-ahead foul shot with nine seconds to play, giving Stivers a 59-58 victory versus Thurgood Marshall in boys basketball on Friday.

Trevon Ellis led the way for Stivers with 16 points and Da’Juan Allen tacked on 14.

Anthony McComb paced Thurgood with 18 points.

Alter 40, McNicholas 38: Brady Uhl led the way for Alter with 19 points. Josh Burkhardt had 16 for McNicholas.

Arcanum 47, National Trail 41: Wade Meeks poured in 26 points to help Arcanum hand National Trail its first loss. Cameron Harris netted 10 points in a losing effort.

Cin. Christian 70, New Miami 52: Riley Reutener recorded 15 points and Cin. Christian pulled away with a 20-7 run in the second quarter. Deanza Duncan netted 23 points for New Miami.

Fairmont 60, Springboro 44: Ryan Hall had 27 points and Kellan Bochenek 22 for Fairmont. Garett Powell led Springboro in scoring with 14 points.

Greenon 75, Greeneview 56: Cade Rice recorded 20 points and Andrew Conover added 16 for Greenon. Gabe Caudill paced Greeneview with 21 points.

Jackson Center 40, Fort Loramie 34: Trent Platfoot scored 13 points and Jackson Center used a 13-1 run in the third quarter to pull away. Eli Rosengarten recorded 22 points for Fort Loramie.

Lebanon 57, Beavercreek 51: Zach Huffman and Luke Arnold each had 16 points to lead Lebanon. Brayden Walther also had 16 points for ‘Creek.

Legacy Christian 88, Jefferson 44: Erik Uszynski led Legacy with 18 points and Roman Newsome and Mike Sharavjamts tacked on 16 apiece.

Madison 71, Carlisle 45: Tristan Sipple scored 17 points, Jake Munafo 16 and Ryan Duritsch and Matt Gomia 10 apiece for Madison. Jesse Rutherford led Carlisle with 13 points.

Mason 65, Fairfield 42: Landen Long led the way with 25 points for Mason. Devin Turner had 11 points and Logan Murphy 10 for Fairfield.

Mechanicsburg 62, Triad 43: Logan Hurst led the way with 20 points and Kyle Smith added 14 for ‘Burg. Drew Campbell tallied 15 points for Triad.

Miamisburg 55, Northmont 51: Duncan Hall had a career-high 26 points in leading Miamisburg. Patrick Ivory paced Northmont with 11 points and Danny Lewis added 10.

Miami East 72, Bradford 21: Sam Zapadka scored 19 points in leading Miami East.

Miami Valley 55, Yellow Springs 44: Pruthvi Choudary and Alec Martin each totaled 17 points for Miami Valley. Andrew Clark scored 20 points for Yellow Springs.

Mississinawa Valley 58, Bethel 57, OT: Blake Scholl scored 14 points and D.J. Howell 13 to lead Mississinawa in the overtime win.

New Bremen 57, New Knoxville 30: Mitchell Hays had 11 points and Patrick Wells 10 for New Bremen. Jared Osborne and Sam Anspach scored 10 points apiece for New Knoxville.

Northwest 46, Edgewood 40: Steven Grau netted 15 points and Isaiah Loveless 10 for Northwest.

Oakwood 61, Eaton 46: Darren Rubin turned in 22 points and Daniel Hu 19 for Oakwood. Hunter Frost finished with 17 points for Eaton.

Oak Hills 45, Hamilton 42: D’Marco Howard had 17 points and Jaylen Robinson 12 but Hamilton fell victim to an Oak Hills rally.

Princeton 58, Middletown 36: Bowen Hardman paced Princeton with 14 points. Chance Walker had 12 for Middletown.

Sidney 74, Piqua 46: Andre Gordon scored 13 of his 23 points in the first half to spur Sidney. Gordon also dished out seven assists. Qurri Tucker paced Piqua with 12 points.

Troy Christian 32, Dayton Christian 24: Troy Christian closed the game on a 12-4 run to pull away. Seth Griswold had 10 points in a losing effort for DC.

Twin Valley South 62, Tri-County North 52: Jayden Bassler turned in a career-high 23 points for Twin Valley South. Brian and Dylan Stinson totaled 19 points apiece for Tri-County North.

Waynesville 61, Northridge 57: Alex Hurley had 12 points and John Cole and Anthony Carmichael tacked on 10 apiece. Twon Hines netted 27 points for Northridge.
