HS Roundup 2/8: Valley View girls knock off Franklin

The Valley View girls basketball team successfully clinched the SWBL Southwestern division title in its 56-48 rout of Franklin.

Hunter Stidham netted 22 points in the win, while Lauren Legate tacked on 14.

Layne Ferrell scored 22 points of her own in the losing effort.

Emily Newton, Skylar Weir and Brooke Stoker each tacked on six for Franklin.

The win moves Valley View to 18-1 on the season and drops Franklin to 16-5.

Girls Basketball

Trotwood 72, Northmont 63: Shai McGruder netted 33 points in the GWOC victory.

Tecumseh 59, Kenton Ridge 44: Presley Griffitts added 18 points to her season total in Tecumseh’s 17th win of the season. Mallory Armentrout paced all scorers with 20 in the losing effort.

Bellbrook 62, Eaton 32: Bekah Vine’s 18 points led all scorers in the Bellbrook victory. Alexis Miller put up eight points for Eaton.

Carlisle 62, Northridge 30: Abby Erisman netted 12 points in the Carlisle victory. Leslie Lane shot for 17 in the loss.

Oakwood 69, Stivers 23: Lauren Hapgood notched 16 points in the win for Oakwood. Kyndall Ketterer had 12 points and 13 rebounds for the double-double.

Preble Shawnee 50, Milton Union 35: Nicole Sims scored 17 points to lead all scorers in the win. Kristen Dickison added nine points to her season total in the loss.

Waynesville 69, Dixie 33: Marcella Sizer, Aubrey Rains, Kourtney Rentz and Lynzie Hartshorn each netted 12 points in the win. Mckinlee Ruppert recorded 16 for Dixie.

Talawanda 52, Madison 49: Addie Brown shot for 40 of Talawanda’s 54 points in the win. Lillie Runnells tallied 22 for Madison.

Ponitz 62, Meadowdale 16: Jamiyah Walton tallied 13 points in the Ponitz victory. Ilea Bradfield had nine for Meadowdale.

Mechanicsburg 58, Catholic Central 34: Kasey Schipfer recorded 21 points in the ‘Burg win. Abbigail Peterson led with 11 for CC.

Triad 60, Greenon 49: Emma Vanninen and Alea Ferguson each netted 16 points in the win. Reagan Ware countered with 25 in the loss.

West Liberty-Salem 36, West Jefferson 27: Taylor Lauck poured in 12 points in the WLS win. Kelsey Day added on 11.

Arcanum 58, Ansonia 40: Kayla O’Daniel netted 22 points in the CCC win.

Bethel 52, Twin Valley South 51: Kenna Grey’s 16 points led Bethel in the win. Mylan Crews shot for 18 in the losing effort.

Covington 68, Tri County North 34: Samantha Whiteman added 27 points to her season total in the win. Aubrey Stupp shot for 12 for TCN.

Miami East 69, National Trail 24: Makena Laird and Evan Byrd each had nine points for Trail.

Newton 44, Franklin Monroe 43: Tatum McBride paced all scorers with 17 points in the win. Bella Cable recorded a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds in the losing effort.

Tri-Village 75, Bradford 26: Lissa Siler poured in 17 points for Tri-Village. Skipp Miller shot for nine for Bradford.

Wilmington 67, Batavia 27: Mya Jackson broke the all-time scoring record for Wilmington in the win, netting 20 points on the night.

Russia 47, Fort Loramie 35: Laurissa Poling netted 15 points in the Russia victory. Jenna Cordonnier tacked on 12. Kenzie Hoelscher and Taylor Ratermann each sunk nine in the loss.

New Bremen 39, Parkway 26: Jane Homan netted 10 points in the win for New Bremen. Paige Jones tacked on eight.

Versailles 56, St. Henry 37: Elizabeth Ording shot for 13 points in the Versailles victory. Nikki Keller put up nine in the loss.

St. Marys 73, Celina 54: Syd Cisco tacked on 23 points to her season total in the win. Makena Mele chipped in 16.
