About Wright State: The Raiders are ranked 62nd (out of 351 Division-I teams) in 3-point shooting, hitting 38 percent. But opponents are connecting at a 42.3-percent clip, which ranks 349th nationally. Miami went 11-of-23 on 3's, including the game-winner. … Freshman sub Skyelar Potter, who is averaging 7.9 points (fifth on the team) and 6.1 rebounds (second), had a gutty performance against Miami with 17 points and five rebounds despite dealing with the death of his stepmother last weekend. … The Raiders have won the previous two meetings with Kent State under Nagy, prevailing 63-54 at home last season and 68-63 on the road in 2016-17. "It'll certainly be a tough one because we beat them twice, and they'll have their kids really pumped up for the game," he said. "The question is, can our guys bounce back from a tough loss and be ready to fire or will we mope around? Life very rarely hands you want you want. We've really seen that this week for sure."
About Kent State: The Golden Flashes are off to a hot start, including a 77-75 win at Vanderbilt. It was their third victory over a Power-5 conference team in as many seasons, having knocked off Texas in 2016 and Oregon State last season. … They have a pair of four-point road wins over Horizon League teams Cleveland State and Detroit. … They finished 17-17 overall and 9-9 in the Mid-American Conference and reached the semifinals of the league tournament last season. They returned three starters, including their leading scorer, Jaylin Walker (16.6). The 6-3 senior guard missed the first five games because of a violation of university policy, but he returned to score 22 points against Vanderbilt and is averaging 24.3. … Avery led the nation last year in assist-turnover ratio (5.04). … Kent State was picked third in the MAC East, and Walker was a preseason first-team all-conference pick.
