Wright State sophomore earns Horizon League weekly honor


Wright State sophomore Alex Alders has been named the Horizon League Batter of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.

The sophomore from Sagamore Hills hit .526 during four games last week, leading the Raiders to a pair of league wins at Northern Kentucky.

Alders went 10 for 19 with a double and a triple while driving in four runs and scoring five. He also stole two bases while upping his team-leading batting average to .420.

WSU (15-10 overall, 6-3 HL) returns to action Tuesday at the University of Cincinnati.
