15 damaging storms that pounded Ohio in recent history

Ohio has designated March 19-25 as Spring Severe Weather Awareness Week. During the week, the state encourages residents to learn about storm threats and how to protect themselves.

Here are views of the Miami Valley during 15 recent storms classified by the Ohio Insurance Institute as some of the most costly in insurance claims in recent years.

July 12-14, 2015: $36.9 million

May 23-28, 2015: $14.8 million

April 7-10, 2015: $62.7 million

Nov. 17-18, 2013: $54 million

Oct. 29-30, 2012: $292 million

Feb. 27-28, 2011: $68.9 million
