There are numerous transfers — more than 400, according to VerbalCommits.com — Dayton could land. Dayton hasn’t signed a grad transfer, who can play immediately, since Ryan Bass in 2014.
There are many other transfers available who would have to sit out next season. Dayton has thrived in the last four years because of landing players in that category: Vee Sanford, Jordan Sibert, Charles Cooke and Josh Cunningham being the four most recent examples.
One player new Dayton coach Anthony Grant is interested in, according to a report from Corey Evans, a national basketball analyst at Rivals.com, is Missouri transfer Frankie Hughes.

Hughes, a 6-foot-4 guard from Garfield Heights High School in Cleveland, originally signed with Louisville and then went to Missouri instead. He averaged 7.6 points per game last season as a freshman. He decided to transfer when Missouri fired Kim Anderson and hired Cuonzo Martin.
Minnesota, Rhode Island, Duquesne, Wichita State and St. Joseph’s are among the other schools interested in Hughes, according to Evans. Hughes will have to sit out next season.
