The city of Bellbrook paid three employees more than $100,000 last year, two more than in in 2016, according to the I-Team Payroll Project searchable database of public employees.

An I-Team investigation last year found the ability to cash out unused sick and vacation leave is a rare perk in the private sector, though local governments are on the hook for tens of millions of dollars worth of these payments.

1. Mark Schlagheck, city manager: $121,407

2. Douglas Doherty, police chief: $102,133

3. James Neidhard, fire chief: $101,746

4. Dale Wilson, service director: $95,081

5. Kevin Rglueckert, fire lieutenant: $93,970

6. Gregory Nartker, fire lieutenant: $93,673

7. Keith Salyers, police sergeant: $93,280

8. Stephen Carmin, police lieutenant: $88,138

9. Anthony Bizzarro, fire captain: $86,376

10. Brian Meade, police sergeant: $83,336
